How do I add items to my checklist?

Open a checklist and tap Edit Mode. Use + Item to search the 1,500+ item database, type a custom name, or browse categories like Clothing, Electronics, and Toiletries. Tap + Copy to add any item directly to your list.

What is the difference between Edit Mode and Packing Mode?

Edit Mode (also called Preparing Mode) is for planning: you add items, assign bags, set quantities and weights, and attach notes. When packing day arrives tap Start Packing to switch to Active Packing Mode — a focused, distraction-free view where you simply check items off.

How do I organise items into different bags?

In Edit Mode tap + Bag to create containers such as Main Bag, Carry-On, Toiletry Kit, or My Pockets. Then long-press any item and use Move to Bag to assign it. In Bags View you can see all containers with their item count and total weight.

How does bag weight tracking work?

Each item has an optional weight field. Packolist sums the weights of all items assigned to a bag and displays the total next to the bag name (e.g. Main Bag · 1.8 kg). You can set weight limits and switch between kg and lbs in App Settings.

What is the My Pockets bag?

My Pockets is a special quick-access container for items you keep on your person — passport, wallet, phone, boarding pass. You can open My Pockets instantly from the Home screen without opening the full checklist.

What are the trip phases in Packolist?

Each trip moves through five phases: Prep → Packing → Leaving → Transit → Arrived. Packolist tracks your progress and prompts departure checks when you reach the Leaving phase so nothing is forgotten before you walk out the door.

How do I reset my checklist for the return trip?

Inside the checklist open the three-dot menu and tap Reset Ticks. This unchecks all items so you can use the same list to pack for your journey home.

Can I use the Voice Item Reader while packing?

How do I share a checklist with someone?

Open the checklist, tap the three-dot menu, and choose Share. You can copy a link, export a PDF, or print the list. To share for collaborative packing, use the Collaborate option instead.

How does collaboration work?

Can I export my checklist to PDF?

Yes. Open the checklist, tap the three-dot menu, and choose Export PDF. You can also tap Print to send it directly to a printer.

Can I publish my own list to the Communal Feed?

Yes. Open a checklist, tap the three-dot menu, and choose Publish. Your list will appear in the Communal Feed for other travelers to discover.

How does Packolist learn from my trips?
